Reporting to the Exhibits Manager, the Assistant Exhibits Designer assists the WDM in achieving its public trust responsibilities through a comprehensive program of permanent, temporary and travelling exhibits. The Assistant Exhibits Designer is responsible for assigned 3D design, graphic design, project management, production, installation and maintenance projects at all WDM branches.
The Assistant Exhibits Designer is responsible for: • Developing interpretive exhibit design for permanent, temporary and travelling exhibits. • Creating sketches, renderings, floorplans, construction drawings, prototypes or models as required to communicate design concepts with others. • Participating in the construction, production, installation, maintenance and take down of museum exhibits. • Ensuring exhibits are physically and intellectually accessible and artifact security and visitor safety is maintained through adherence to museum standards.
