About the position Reporting to the Manager of Interpretation and Outreach, you conceive and develop physical and virtual exhibitions and related content, using knowledge and skills in project management, interpretive planning, display methods and interactive and immersive experiences.
The incumbent will:
lead interpretive planning for the Bank of Canada Museum to provide a coherent and engaging experience for various audiences lead exhibition teams in the development of virtual and physical exhibition content which may consist of internal experts, partners, external contractors, and technicians define and manage exhibition projects ensuring appropriate attention is given to timeframes, budgets and deliverables establish and maintain cooperative and consultative relationships within the Bank of Canada and with external partners ensure that interpretation activities align with Bank of Canada priorities and policies, support a dynamic visitor experience, and help showcase the National Currency Collection
Your future responsibilities
plan and produce, in collaboration with curators and content experts, a program of permanent, temporary and travelling exhibitions as well as virtual exhibitions that meets the Museum's objectives review and revise permanent exhibition content as required develop interpretive plans and strategies for exhibitions create engaging and innovative experiences for museum visitors that include the development of audiovisual and interactive elements as well as other interpretive products collaborate with the Museum’s Education and Evaluation Specialist on the development of audience profiles and exhibition evaluation strategies, and on ways to best utilize visitor data in the planning and design of exhibitions collaborate with the Museum’s Marketing and Communications Specialist and the visitor’s services team to develop promotional and outreach strategies and content for exhibitions develop policies and procedures to promote the effective development of exhibitions oversee production and budgeting of exhibitions including service proposals, contracts, design, fabrication, scheduling, maintenance and repairs recommend alternate production methods and distribution approaches for exhibitions manage external partnerships related to exhibitions ensure compliance with Bank of Canada policies as well as relevant legislation such as the Copyright and Official Languages Acts and professional standards such as inclusive design and accessibility
