Museum Interpreter Frontenac County Schools Museum Kingston, ON
As the museum’s interpreter you will dress in the period costume of a turn-of-the-century school teacher during visitor hours. You will be responsible for greeting visitors, leading them on tours and giving a short presentation as the school teacher if required. Other duties include tracking visitor numbers, attending public programmes and outreach events. As well as light cleaning duties and carrying moderate loads. A successful candidate for this position will be comfortable speaking to large and small groups of people, work with a range of audiences from young children to seniors and be able to answer general questions on the history of education in Ontario and Frontenac County in particular. Job specific training will be provided.
Qualifications Post–secondary education and or/experience in the following fields is desirable: Historical Interpretation, Education, History, Drama, Museum Studies, Public Programming.
Position available dependent upon receiving Canada Summer Jobs grant
