Job Summary: Fort Calgary is located at the site of the original North West Mounted Police Fort, built in 1875 on the confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers. As a national, provincial and municipal heritage site with a long and varied history of stewardship, Fort Calgary is seeking a seasonal employee for landscape and garden maintenance. This position runs from May-September with flexible start and end dates. Standard work week, Monday through Friday, must be returning to full time studies in fall 2018.
Primary Responsibilities will include: • Site mowing and outdoor/indoor maintenance at Fort Calgary. • Mowing and manually weeding to control invasive and noxious weeds on site. along with tree pruning. • Monitoring and Maintaining the Fort Calgary site.
Skills & Experience: • Have experience working safely with outdoor hand and power tools. • Have landscape experience. • Are able to follow directions and work without supervision. • Enjoy working outside. • Are comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions.
Maintenance experience as well as an abiding interest in landscaping, litter pick up and other aspects of building management are assets to the position.
Education: • In the process of completing a post-secondary degree; must be returning to full time studies in fall 2018
