Job Description
Two Rivers Gallery seeks a recent College or University graduate under 30 years of age for the position of Indigenous Programming Intern. The position will work with our programming and curatorial departments and play an important role in the Gallery’s day-to-day activities. With training, the Intern will focus on exhibition installation, exhibition interpretation, community programming and relationship building.
The successful candidate will:
-have graduated from a post-secondary program in the past 24 months
-be creative, innovative and adaptable
-have interest in working with school-aged children
-have a love of art
-work well in a team
-show initiative and effort
The position of Indigenous Programming Intern will provide valuable project management experience for this recent graduate, enhancing employability, while providing experience in art gallery operations. This internship will provide opportunities to work and network with professionals in the field in a small, creative and inclusive team environment.
Dates of Employment: September 16, 2019– March 13, 2020 (26 weeks)
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours / week. Generally work hours are 9am-5pm Monday – Friday with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Occasional weekend and evening work is required.
Compensation: $18.00 / hour
