Are you passionate about discovering and sharing interesting things? Does the idea of creativity in the name of science interest you? If so, we would like to hear from you! Science North is currently recruiting two Science Communicators to deliver our hands-on brand of science programming to students in First Nation communities across Northern Ontario. The Science Communicators will work with the Senior Scientist and Staff Scientist to deliver the programming aimed at raising awareness about climate change and actionable steps youth can take.

The successful candidate will present science concepts to students and other audiences and involve them in hands-on experiences and programs that have to do with climate science. Successful candidates will have experience in the delivery of programming and will be science focused with a formal background and/or equivalent experience in science and/or related field. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, a keen interest in science, willingness to travel and the ability to work in a fast paced environment, managing multiple priorities. The position also requires a current (less than 3 months) criminal background check and a valid driver’s license reflecting a 3-year safe driving record. These are full-time contract positions.
