From November 18–20, museum professionals will meet in Calgary to discuss the future of marketing and fundraising in museums in Canada. Over the course of the Symposium, you’ll hear firsthand strategies from leading experts, participate in hands-on training, and network with colleagues from across the country to uncover the tools you need to increase the effectiveness and success of your campaigns.

Facilitated round table discussions will be the cornerstone for the Symposium, and through a variety of presentations, we will address an extensive list of topics, such as:

  • What are the top three elements for developing a case for support?
  • What to look for when choosing online fundraising tools?
  • What are the current trends?
  • How and why do you develop and maintain donor stewardship?
  • How do you manage your data?
  • How do you develop successful and enduring partnerships?
  • What is the importance of storytelling in your marketing and fundraising initiatives?

Delegates will leave with a comprehensive understanding of the practicalities, solutions to logistical challenges, and an expanded network of collaborators and partners.

Who should attend?

The Symposium is particularly recommended for museum professionals involved in any aspect of development, marketing and communications, and those responsible for public relations within your institution.

Why should I attend?

  1. Gather inspiring and practical new ideas from nonprofit marketers and fundraisers like yourself
  2. Learn secrets of the trade from selected leading marketing and fundraising experts
  3. Discover what tools work and what don’t
  4. Meet and network with colleagues from across Canada
