Job Description
Do you love history, community education, and working with the public? The Reach Gallery Museum is seeking a mature, motivated candidate to lead a summer outreach initiative to promote learning about The Reach’s historical collections and to provide the public with information to about exhibitions, events, and activities. The Reach participates in several community events and festivals during the summer months through outreach kiosks. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating these kiosks, identifying and implementing other opportunities for outreach activities, and assisting with child and youth arts and heritage-based programming over the summer months.
The position is ideal for students at the undergraduate or graduate level, or those with a background in museum studies, education, anthropology, history, cultural studies, art history, library and information science, or cultural resource management. Our candidate will have a moderate knowledge of program and event coordination, good administrative and time management skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be comfortable working with the public and must be capable of working effectively independently or as part of a team. They must also have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a criminal record check.

Rate of pay: $17.00 plus 4% vacation pay
Work term: July-August (8-10 weeks), 35 hrs/week
Eligibility
