THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF BRUCE Requires an
Education/Outreach Coordinator – Temporary Full Time (20 Months) – Southampton, ON
Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre

Reporting to the Business Services Manager, the Education/Outreach Coordinator researches, develops, promotes and delivers school programming and life-long learning programs and events at the Museum as well as offsite locations in the educational system. The Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development, training, implementation and reporting for all children’s and adult learning programs. This position will provide coverage on a full time temporary basis for a period of approximately 20 months with part time hours starting in April, transitioning into full time hours effective in May. This position will be based at the Museum & Cultural Centre in Southampton.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in an education-related discipline, ideally teaching
• Two years of prior experience in education or children’s programming
• Experience working with children and developing programs
• Ability to understand the Ontario Curriculum and relate it to museum programming
• Strong public relations and presentation skills
• Proven research and analysis ability, including statistical report writing
• Strong organizational skills
• Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite
• Effective communications skills, both written and verbal
• Superb writing, content development, and editing skills
• Ability to create materials in a range of styles or per a prescribed style
• High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
• Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly and to ensure they are clearly communicated to an audience
• Ability to travel
