Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant, Exhibitions

The McCord Museum is looking for an Exhibition’s Assistant to work with the Exhibition’s team for a contract of a little more than a year, to assist the Project Managers.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Exhibitions, the incumbent will be assisting the Project Managers in the many steps involved in the production of exhibitions:
• Participate in the follow-up of all exhibition production phases
• Collaborate in the research phase and in the production of the exhibition’s scenario
• Collaborate in the different production phases, from concept to design and fabrication
• Participate in the preparation of various agreements
• Participate in research for iconographical, sound and video content and obtain all permissions and copyrights necessary for the exhibition projects
• Enter exhibition lists in TMS, our collection’s data bank
• Prepare documents for the borrowing of objects and follow-ups
• Prepare the requests for payment of our suppliers and enter expenses in our accounting system
• Prepare the requests for special permits
• Plan, organize and manage meetings and write the minutes of meetings
• All other related duties
Employment Conditions
• Contract, full-time, 35 hours/week
• Employment to start February or March 2020 to March 31, 2021
• Three-month probation period
• Compensation commensurate with experience ($20-$25)
Qualifications
• Eligible to the Emploi Québec Program
• University degree in museum studies, history, art history, management, or other relevant field
• 2 years of pertinent professional experience
• Fluency with digital technologies
• Fluency in English and French (written and spoken)
