Job Description
The Camp Counsellor creates a fun and safe environment in which children are inspired and informed about Canada’s scientific and technological heritage at the Canada Science and Technology Museum. The Counsellor engages children in daily STEAM (Science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) activities through games, experiments, crafts, and strong leadership skills.
EDUCATION:
As an ideal candidate, you hold a completion of Grade 12 or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous interpretation, education, early childhood education, or theatrical experience in museums, camps, parks, tourism, schools and /or related fields;
- Experience working with children, and /or with children on the autism spectrum or with special needs;
-Practical experience in robotics, coding, and LEGO's robotics products, as well as demonstrable skills in creating, tinkering, and performing science experiments are considered assets.

RATED REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge :
- Knowledge of science, technology, robotics, and/or coding;
- Knowledge of learning theories and interpretive techniques;
- Knowledge of the mandate and the organization of Ingenium.
Abilities:
- Ability to deliver dynamic interpretive and educational programs;
- Ability to simplify complex information about science and technology and explain it to children;
- Capable of performing physical labour of lifting, moving (chairs/tables etc.), walking and standing for long periods of time (very active job);
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Ability to work effectively in a team situation;
- Ability to work well without continuous supervision;
- Ability to communicate orally in both official languages;
- Ability to effectively represent the Corporation in a professional manner.

- Experience and/or desire to work with children and youth in a camp setting
- Friendly, responsible, service-oriented attitude
