Job Description

Since its opening in 1964, Heritage Park Historical Village has grown into one of Canada’s premier tourist attractions and one of North America’s largest and most successful living history museums. Heritage Park’s exhibits span the time period from the early 1860s fur trade to the petroleum and automobile-dominated 1950s. Heritage Park’s mission is to connect people with the settlement of Western Canada and preserve our culture and heritage, as well as to educate and entertain guests of all ages for many generations to come.

Heritage Park brings history to life with new adventures every day. There is so much to experience on the 127 acre peninsula of pristine parkland adjacent to the Glenmore Reservoir. Attractions and exhibits include: 1860’s fur trading fort and first nations’ encampment, pre-railway settlement, train and prairie railway town, paddlewheeler, Gasoline Alley museum, and heritage town square. There are also various retail stores, concessions and fine dining venues, banquet facilities, as well as educational programs and camps. Heritage Park is an amazing interactive museum experience, and it is an icon locally, nationally and internationally.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the President & CEO leads Heritage Park to implement and achieve its vision. The President & CEO is accountable for the development and execution of the strategic plan, site operations, corporate services, donor and stakeholder relations, marketing and communications, multiple revenue streams, and leading a committed leadership team.

Heritage Park is looking for an inspirational and charismatic leader with a strong business management background and exceptional communication skills; an individual who builds relationships and brings people together. As the successful candidate, you are passionate about history and the visitor experience. You are known to be a catalyst who embraces a high-performance team culture that inspires others to exceed their own personal expectations.

If you are passionate about Canada’s history and you have the desire to communicate the real story as to how Western Canada and Calgary continues to inspire and innovate, please forward your cover letter and resume in complete confidence to careers@altopartners.ca.
