Job Description

DUTIES:
Reporting to the Assistant Store Manager, the incumbent provides sales and customer service leadership on the floor at all times, performs cashier duties including opening, closing and cash balancing, assists in store merchandising and display, replenishes stock and supplies and ensures store is clean, organized and ready for business on a daily basis, ships and receives merchandise and performs a variety of miscellaneous related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of the twelfth grade, plus two years experience working in a retail setting with solid sales experience and a demonstrated interest in visual arts. Extensive experience with customer relations and sales techniques is mandatory. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is required. The ability to communicate effectively and maintain quality relationship with a variety of internal and external contacts and co-workers is essential. As part of a sales team with daily sales targets, you will have worked in a high volume gift shop selling art-related items. Point of sale experience and strong merchandising skills are essential. Applicants must be self-motivated, able to accept responsibility and work well with minimal supervision in a high pressure retail setting, work for long hours in a standing position and carry heavy parcels.
