Job Title: Manager, Membership Development
Reports to: Deputy Director of Client Services
About the CMA:
The Canadian Museums Association (CMA) is the national organization for the advancement of the Canadian museum sector, representing Canadian museum professionals both within Canada and internationally. The membership includes nearly 2,000 members from non-profit museums, art galleries, science centres, aquaria, archives, sport halls-of-fame, artist-run centres, zoos and historic sites across Canada. They range from large metropolitan galleries to small community museums. The CMA provides professional development programs, networking opportunities, and is a body of knowledge to its members.
CMA is seeking a dynamic, experienced and motivated person to take a lead role in the organization. Responsibilities include:
Ongoing maintenance, development and promotion of the CMA member benefits and services;
Development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of strategies, programs and other initiatives to grow and retain the CMA membership;
Member recruitment, processes annual renewals and general member administration and services, including event administration;
Participates in Senior Management meetings, and other meetings as required;
Conducts research and produces reports for various stakeholders;
Participates in the development and the delivery of revenue generating activities and events including annual and special conferences.
The successful candidate will have:
Experience in delivering high quality member services at a national level, preferably in a non-profit association;
Experience with managing registrations for conferences;
Experience with staff supervision;
High degree of proficiency in data processing, preferably using a membership database;
High degree of proficiency using current technologies such as MS Office, Internet etc.;
Ability to liaise effectively with members, senior management, staff and members of the Board of Directors;
Ability to work collaboratively in a small professional team;
Excellent communication skills verbal and written in French and English;
Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills;
Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, or administration and/or equivalent experience;
Some knowledge of financial accounting principles would be desirable.

The CMA offers a flexible work environment and a at benefit package with a salary range of $42,500 to $55,000.
