Job Description:

Manages the Markham Museum Summer Day Camp Programs. Has oversight responsibilities to ensure the highest level of program quality for the Museum’s curriculum based summer camp programs including the areas of program planning, program delivery and administration. Oversees approximately 100-150 campers per week ranging from 4 to 13 years of age, while supervising and coaching 35-50 staff including supervisors, counsellors, specialists, and volunteers. Ensures consistency in camp policies and processes including training and communication in conjunction with other Summer Program Coordinators and Camp Directors in the City as required. Through strategic leadership and programming, enables preschoolers, children and/or youth to develop skills, make friends, socialize and build self-esteem. Accountable for day-to-day operations under the guidance of the Museum Program Coordinator, ensuring camp activities are safe, educational, inclusive, high quality and meets the Museum’s overall goals.
