Job Description:
As part of Arts and Heritage St. Albert, the Education Programmer supports the Musée Héritage Museum and St. Albert Heritage Sites in the research, interpretation and programming. The programming team provides creative, relevant and quality programming for schools in the region and the general public. The position also works to generate awareness of the museum and heritage sites as a learning resource for teachers, students and the community, promoting a greater appreciation of the culture and heritage of St. Albert.

Responsibilities:
♣ Lead educational programs for children K – 12
♣ Deliver education programs in the Musée Héritage Museum and as outreach programs at local schools and organizations
♣ Organize the preparation of educational programming materials, order supplies
♣ Assist in the development, delivery, and evaluation of community programs
♣ Develop activities and prepare materials for community programs and special events
♣ Assist in organizing and hosting special events
♣ Manage programs calendar and blog posting schedules (monthly)
♣ Lead heritage sites tours and summer walking tours
♣ Assist in development of education resources/materials for teachers with the programming team
♣ Submit monthly museum reports (including attendance statistics) to the Program Manager
♣ Plan and create theme-based activities for the museum’s Discovery Room
Qualifications:
♣ Post-secondary degree in history, education or related field
♣ Experience working with children, adults and seniors and volunteers
♣ Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Dropbox
♣ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
♣ Excellent interpersonal, written communication, research and organizational skills
♣ Adaptable to changing circumstances
♣ Knowledge of current Alberta curriculum requirements
♣ Public speaking experience
♣ First Aid and CPR certification
