This competition is for a seasonal position, working shiftwork, including weekends, from late April to late September. For the purposes of 2018, the seasonal position will be for three months, commencing July 2018, including weekends.
Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre Guides communicate information to the visiting public regarding the last great Ice Age and related heritage and science issues. They design, deliver, and evaluate various interpretive programs, assist with the operation of the Centre, operate audio-visual equipment, keep displays clean, and provide general information regarding Yukon heritage attractions and facilities.
As the ideal candidate you will be an engaging, energetic, and self-confident team player who enjoys interacting with the visiting public and is passionate about providing a quality and current museum visitor experience. You have strong customer service and active listening skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. You will have a good understanding of Yukon history, the peopling of North America, Ice Age mammals and climate change.
