Heritage Intern – Interpretive Programs Coordinator
Term/Full-time: May/June - October 2018 (20 weeks)
Shelburne’s Historic Waterfront – Museums by the Sea

Wage: $13.00/hr

The Shelburne Historical Society (SHS) is hiring an Interpretive Programs Coordinator within our waterfront museum family, Shelburne’s Historic Waterfront - Museums by the Sea. This paid heritage intern position will work out of the Shelburne County Museum, and have a primary role in overseeing the Museum’s programs delivery and development.

You will need to show a strong enthusiasm for local history, heritage research, and working with the public. Applicants must be a recent graduate of post-secondary studies.

Qualifications / Required Skills
➢ Education and experience in museums, interpretation, education, or a related field
➢ Enthusiasm for local history and working with the public
➢ Outgoing personality
➢ Creativity and imagination
➢ Strong interpersonal communication skills
➢ Willingness to work independently and as part of team
➢ Flexibility and adaptability
➢ Computer skills
➢ Research and organizational skills

Experience in heritage interpretation, programs delivery, and programs development would be considered an extremely valuable asset. Additional assets include:
➢ Experience as a supervisor
➢ CPR and First Aid level A
➢ French or German Language skills
