Aylmer Heritage Association is a non-profit organization whose mission is the promotion, preservation and protection of Aylmer's built, natural and immaterial heritage. It arouses interest in the development of research projects and educational initiatives to increase and enhance Aylmer's heritage. It also gives architectural advice to the City of Gatineau and the owners of heritage houses.
ROLE SUMARY: The project consists on processing the Aylmer Heritage Association's records from the year 1975 to 2010.
TYPE OF HIRING: 6 months contract
DATE of employment: Beginning of June 2018
SALARY: $ 20 per hour
WORK LOCATION : Aylmer Heritage Association, 475 Aylmer Road, Gatineau, J9H 1A9
DUTIES : • Organize the documents with a Classification Plan following the description set in the AADR • Sort the documents by series • Describe the documents up to the file level (series, subseries and files) following the standards of AADR • Do the material preparation with archival equipment following the norms established for record storage • Entry the Fund to the Quebec Archives Dissemination Network (RDAQ) • Update the catalog for easy retrieval of the documents
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED : DEC in Information and Library Technology or a Graduate Diploma in Information Management with a certificate in Archive Domain
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate must possess excellent organizational and filing skills, Must master the principles and challenges of organizing, archiving, and providing access to the records of an organization, Must be diligent, dynamic and able to work independently, Must have some French and English at some advanced level.
