Job Description:

 

The Workers Arts and Heritage Centre’s mandate is to preserve, honour, and promote the culture and history of all working people. WAHC is located just off Hamilton’s creative hub, James Street North, in a designated heritage building, the Custom House, on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishnaabee. WAHC is a community museum and multi-disciplinary arts centre - we program contemporary exhibitions, arts events and permanent exhibits as they relate to our mandate. We support contemporary professional artists with a focus on social practice and community engagement, and foster and promote arts that can be accessed by a diverse range of audiences.

We are currently seeking an Outreach and Partnerships Coordinator to form part of the core staff team. This position’s primary role is multi-faceted: financial development, community outreach/activation and event coordination, which includes the coordination and management of our annual fundraising appeal and two signature annual fundraising events; assisting with grant writing and maintaining our members and individual/non-union donors; maintaining our database; programming key calendar dates including IWD, Black History Month, May Day, Labour Day, Pride in partnership with various community organizations; managing/coordinating other small partnership events; co-managing WAHC’s social media presence and newsletter.
