Job Description:

 


Maintaining positive donor relations contributes to ongoing and long-term donor support of the Vancouver Art Gallery. Under the direction of the Director of Development, and working closely with the Director of Institutional Giving and the Campaign Manager, Donor Relations, the Stewardship Officer is responsible for developing highly customized stewardship materials for individual and corporate donors and assisting with programs and events that foster positive long-term relationships.
Stewardship planning encompasses gift recording, acknowledgement, recognition, receipt, appreciation, and accountability and reporting. The Stewardship Officer is responsible for contributing to the process of thanking donors and communicating to them the impact of their gifts.

Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Strong client service orientation and attention to detail. Excellent writing, interpersonal, and oral communication skills with proven ability to present, write, edit, and organize thoughts in a clear, concise, and well-organized manner. Ability to synthesize across multiple sources to produce materials for diverse audiences. Ability to change voice and writing style to fit a particular audience and purpose. Proven ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple priorities, with competing deadlines. Must be able to conduct research and ability to interpret information available in a database. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Tact, discretion, and experience handling confidential information. Proficient in MS Office Suite and database applications (Raiser’s Edge). Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated sound judgment in situations requiring independent decision-making and in handling confidential and sensitive material.
