Position Description:
We are seeking a Head of Lighting to join the Programs Division of King Abdulaziz Center of World Culture, Saudi Aramco.
The Programs Division is responsible for planning and executing all King Abdulaziz Center‘s programs including, but not limited to, the Museum programs, Theater and Performing Arts programs, as well as Keystone and the Outreach programs. In addition, it is responsible for the Library and other educational, scientific, and technological programs.
The Theatre and Performance Arts program will offer performances rooted in community values and creations that enlighten and entertain audiences. Performances, films, lectures and forums will stimulate creativity and nurture Saudi talent. In addition to the King Abdulaziz Center will host world class international performances at the theatre.
The Head of Lighting primary role is to provide technical support to all Performing Arts productions, events and functions, including pre-production, rehearsal, and load in and out periods.
Minimum Requirements:
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, theater production, or lighting design from a recognized and approved program. You will have five years of experience as a Head of Lighting in a live entertainment venue. You must have proficiency with the GrandMA2 Consoles. You must have experience in a variety of productions including: orchestras, dance, opera, drama, concerts, special events, and corporate events. You must have organizational skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure. You must have excellent spoken and written English. You must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and Outlook.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Implement the theatrical lighting design for productions or special events and supervises lighting technicians in all aspects of stage production lighting.
Schedule, supervise, and direct lighting technicians, and collaborate with other members of the production team to deliver the vision of the lighting designer.
Operate the stage lighting console (GrandMa2) and other theatrical lighting equipment and effects.
Create and manage all aspects of lighting for a production. Lighting directors work with the artistic and production staff to support the director's plans for the production.
Review show/production/event information in advance and advises of any necessary changes.
Assist with the theatrical lighting equipment maintenance schedule and maintain inventory control of all theatrical stage lighting equipment and consumables.
Coordinate and implement the lighting requirements for productions in the Theater, Cinema, Energize Theater and outdoor spaces.
Collaborate with the director, production manager, lighting designer, stage manager and the theater’s administration and production staff.
