The Manitoba Agricultural Museum, located near Austin, Manitoba, is seeking an individual with strong customer service and office management skills in the position of Reception and Administration Officer.Reporting to the Executive Director, the incumbent will act as a key support person to the team.
The successful candidate will provide service excellence as the first point of contact for the public, sponsors, partners, members, volunteers and vendors. The Reception and Administration Officer will support both museum operations and the Manitoba Threshermen’s Reunion and Stampede through a broad range of reception and office administration functions. As part of a small and supportive staff team, the Reception and Administration Officer will show his/her ability to multitask, be flexible and supportive to the team efforts.

Duties:
Welcomes visitors and answers inquiries over the phone and in person.
Take payments from visitors, members and campers and keep track of museum attendance.
Manages memberships and campground registrations.
Manages the Hands-on Program for Schools bookings and payments.
Supports the program as needed.
Maintains the office as a welcoming space and manages office supplies.
Participates to the daily duties for museum/grounds opening, gift shop sales, events support.
Supports the Administration and Finance Services Coordinator and the MTRS Committee in the planning and coordination of the Manitoba Threshermen’s Reunion & Stampede.

Qualifications:
Ability to organize, multi-task, adapt, and work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Outstanding customer service and communication skills and a desire to assist others over the phone and in person.
Willingness to learn and execute proprietary data entry.Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Experience with online booking systems or willingness to learn.Experience in providing general clerical duties.Attention to detail while managing a large workload.

Assets:
Experience working in a business office environment.
Experience working in a museum or a not-for-profit organization is an asset.
Ability to speak additional languages is an asset.
Experience in programming and working events is an asset.

Conditions of Employment:
Must hold a class 5 licence
4 months term position with part-time schedule (25 hours a week) in May, June and August and full time schedule (40 hours) in July. Expected start date is between April 30 and May 12.
Full availability is required from July 24 to July 28, 2019.
