Job Description:
The Dundas Museum & Archives is committed to providing access to our archival records through various digital platforms. The Archives Technician will help us work toward this goal by cataloging and scanning items from a variety of collections: machine drawings created by the John Bertram and Sons Co.; a variety of graphic material; and oversize archival photographs. You will also greet visitors to the Museum and assist with archival inquiries. The Archives Technician is a valued member of the staff team of this dynamic community museum. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in the operations of a museum and archives.

Qualifications and skills:
You must be a college or university student with Young Canada Works eligibility prior to hiring with the following:
- A student currently in or entering a university or college archives, museum or library studies program. Students in undergraduate programs majoring in history or social sciences will also be considered.
- Superior attention to detail and ability to work independently is essential.
- Previous experience working in an archives, museum or library environment is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS word, excel, Photoshop and scanning applications is an asset.
- Strong organizational, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Fluency in English.
