Job Description:

The Curatorial and Collections Intern is a member of the Curatorial and Collections Departments. The successful candidate reports to the Director | Curator and Curator Alternate | Collections Manager. This position is responsible for assisting with the ongoing digitization of the permanent collection, curatorial research, assisting with a touring exhibition (provincial, international), and maintaining Category-A museum facility standards through ongoing environmental monitoring.
Candidate Criteria
• University and college graduates who have graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university. Candidates must be graduates of post-secondary degree or diploma programs.
• The position must provide the intern with first time employment in their field of study.
• Candidates are only eligible to participate in the internship program one time.
• Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
La ou le titulaire du poste est membre des services administratifs de conservation et des collections. La personne retenue relève de la directrice | conservatrice et conservatrice suppléante | gestionnaire des collections. Elle contribue à la numérisation continue de la collection permanente, à la recherche en conservation, elle appuie une exposition itinérante (à l’échelle provinciale et internationale) et elle maintient les normes relatives aux installations d’un musée de la catégorie « A » en faisant un suivi permanent de l’environnement.
Critères
• Il faut être un diplômé collégial ou universitaire ayant obtenu son diplôme au cours des trois dernières années d’un établissement reconnu (diplôme d’études postsecondaires).
• Il doit s’agir d’un premier emploi dans le domaine d’études de la personne.
• Les candidats peuvent participer une seule fois au programme de stages.
• Il faut être légalement autorisé à travailler au Canada.
