The Winnipeg River Heritage Museum (WRHM) showcases the people of the Winnipeg River and their stories. We are currently rebuilding, and expect to open our doors this upcoming summer of 2019.
The WRHM seeks to fill one (1) full-time contract Museum Worker, located at 19 Baie Caron S. in St-Georges, MB, for a period of nine (9) weeks with a start date of July 2, 2019 and end date of August 30, 2019. Remuneration is $11.35 an hour, 35 hours a week. Reporting to the Director/Curator and the Assistant Director/Curator, the Museum Worker will work onsite assisting with the Museum’s daily operations.

JOB DUTIES
• Museum opening and closing duties
• Grounds and building maintenance
• General custodial work
• Assisting with guided tours
• Assisting with museum events and public programming
• Assisting with curatorial and collection management work as needed
• Any other duties as assigned
• Weekend work required

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Secondary school student, with intent to return to full-time studies in the Fall
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills to provide high quality customer service
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

Must be students between ages 15-30 who intend to return to school full-time in the following academic year (part time and distance education students do not qualify). Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
