Description: The Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic full-time Science Educator to join the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology (RTMP) located in Drumheller, Alberta. The Science Educator will deliver a variety of interactive school and public programs, assist with program development and ongoing educational activities at the museum. Responsibilities: • Deliver scheduled education programs and activities; including but not limited to individual school workshops, Edutours, Camp-Ins, public programs, auditorium and amphitheatre presentations, and special events programming. • Develop and modify education/interpretive programs and activities that fit the Museum’s mandate and, for school programs, the Alberta curriculum. • Assist with the training of seasonal education staff Requirements: • Post-secondary degree with preference towards science, education or drama • Previous education/interpretive programming experience • A strong knowledge of Earth and life sciences • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Experience working with children • Strong MS Office computer skills and comfortable working with technology • Valid First Aid certification • Provide a vulnerable sector criminal record check Assets: • Leadership or supervisory experience • Bilingual - English/French (preferred) • Valid driver’s license Compensation: • Salary negotiable • Group Health Benefits Plan available • Group RSP Plan available Start Date: February 2019
