The Assistant Curator provides organizational support, staff leadership, and collection-registration assistance to meet the diverse needs of the Walter Phillips Gallery (WPG) programs, the Banff International Curatorial Institute, and related projects. Works closely with the Curator and the Director of Visual Arts on the development, implementation, and staffing of outreach and educational initiatives in the WPG. Maintains schedules and coordinates programs for the WPG. Provides organizational and administrative support to the Curator and guest curators. Oversees all arrangements and shipping of loans and touring exhibitions. Writes artist bios and interpretative material for exhibition text. With Curator, acts as co-mentor of WPG practicum participants. Assists with the curation of exhibitions in the main gallery space and curates exhibitions for satellite spaces.
