This fun, summer job involves a lot of time within the spaces of this beautiful historical site – as well as our dark and sinister jail cells!
We are currently seeking positive, enthusiastic individuals dedicated to providing exemplary customer service in presenting the site to our visitors.
Reporting to the Guided Tours Coordinator, responsibilities include: • Delivering and interpreting site tours and educational programs (including Teatime), as costumed guides from May to October. • Performing front desk duties such as; greeting visitors and responding to enquiries, conducting admission, store transactions, collecting data, and other related tasks. • Promoting the Centre’s tours to passerbys. • Assist with special events and activities as required.
Must have strong communication skills in both official languages and be punctual. We are looking for self-motivated people who are able to work within a team. Experience with giving guided tours and theatre is an asset. Must have experience with customer service and cash systems. Must have been a full-time student in Winter 2018 / 19 and have completed at least a one-year post-secondary studies, in one of the following fields with the intention of returning to their studies in the Fall:
• Archaeology • Art History • Communications • Education • Heritage Studies • History • Liberal Arts • Museology • Tourism • Theatre
This position includes evening and weekend work. The staffing position of this position is dependent on approval of funding by our partner organization.
Number of hours: 35 per week Salary: $14 / hour Training Start Date : May 3, 2019 Start Date: Friday, May 17, 2019
