This position runs a total of 14 weeks, beginning at the Museum in Southampton on May 28, 2019 and ending August 30, 2019. The Senior Leader is the Museum’s senior summer student working with children’s programming, reporting to the Education & Outreach Coordinator.

During camp (July 2 –August 30) the Senior Leader will implement the day-to-day execution of the activities they have planned for the camp attendees which include: crafts, games, songs, stories, outdoor time, and exhibit-based activities with the support of the Junior Leader. The Senior Leader may work with Museum volunteers and other workers in the delivery of this programming.

The preferred candidate for the position will be a post-secondary student studying in an education, early childhood education, heritage & culture, or recreation-related field. Candidates will be enthusiastic and enjoy interacting with people of all ages, especially children. Previous experience delivering activities to groups of school-age children is an asset. The candidate will have a working understanding of the standard Microsoft Office suite of programs and be proficient in email and social networking applications.
