  About the CMA
The Canadian Museums Association (CMA) is the national organization for the advancement of the Canadian museums sector, representing Canadian museum professionals both within Canada and internationally.

Job Description
CMA is seeking a bilingual, detail-oriented and motivated person for the position of Communications Officer, to support all of CMA’s multi-platform communications. As one of the Association’s primary communicators, the Communications Officer is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of information among the communications team, its contributors and sub-contractors, and CMA staff to ensure that the membership is supported with timely, good quality, information about the CMA and its activities.

Key responsibilities include:
• Support publication of the CMA’s bi-monthly, bilingual magazine MUSE, through news gathering, fact checking, image collection and research, translation coordination, contributor coordination, mailing, and other tasks as assigned.
• Draft and coordinate the production and dissemination of CMA member communiques, media releases and newsletters.
• Support the coordination and production of all conference collateral.
• Support the production of web content.
• Manage all social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter primarily).
• Provide general communications support in terms of copywriting and copyediting in both English and French, translation coordination and quality control, fact checking and other research, as required.
• Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Experience and education
• Post-secondary education in communications, journalism, translation or a related field.
• Fluently bilingual (imperative), with exceptional writing abilities in both French and English.
• Experience managing social media channels for an organization.
• Proficient with technology, primarily MS Office, as well as web-based tools and content management systems.
• Organized, adaptable, curious, creative, self-starter, attentive to detail and team-oriented.
• Positive, flexible approach to problem solving, focused on customer service and quality outcomes.
• A passion for museums and knowledge of Canada’s cultural sector are assets.

Salary range is $32,000-36,000 per year. The CMA offers a flexible work environment, and an exceptional benefits package.
