The County of Grey is currently recruiting summer youth for Grey Roots Museum and Archives. We are looking for dedicated youth aged 18-30 to assist us in offering our visitors the best possible experiences this summer. Grey Roots is home to Museum, Archives, Tourism services as well as Moreston Heritage Village for local visitors and travellers. The following youth positions are available:
1. Archival Assistant (1 position)
2. Collections Assistant (1 position)
3. Heritage Village and Facility Maintenance Assistant (1 position)
4. Historic Site Interpreter (4 positions)
5. KidsCamp Assistant (3 positions)
6. Visitor Services Assistant (2 positions - 1 bilingual)

Ideal candidates have taken courses in relevant disciplines (history, anthropology, museum studies, communications, education) and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. The selected youth will be responsible, able to follow direction well, and demonstrate an ability to work with minimal supervision. A keen interest in local history is also an asset. Candidates will have, or are willing to obtain, First Aid/CPR training and a police records check. Comfort using computers and office software is an asset. Strength to lift 50 lbs is an asset. Necessary training and support will be provided. All summer youth positions are 16 weeks in duration, 35 hours per week (May to September, 2019). Overtime, evening and weekend hours may be required. To qualify for certain positions, candidates may be required to have been registered at a secondary or post secondary institution in the last academic year and be returning to their studies in 2019.
