Applications are invited for a Marketing Officer to create and execute marketing campaigns for the University, with an emphasis on digital marketing and social media. Reporting to the Director, Marketing + Communications, this position works alongside a small team to support a wide variety of University goals, including public engagement, student recruitment, reputation management and fundraising.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Creates and executes marketing campaigns using a variety of tools, including display and search advertising, social media, email marketing and print.
2 Creates, schedules and distributes content on social media channels.
3 Listens, monitors and responds to relevant social media messages and discussions.
4 Develops and implements strategies to build audiences and increase engagement.
5 Defines key performance indicators and measures, analyzes and reports on marketing efforts.
6 In collaboration with Communications staff, develops a comprehensive marketing plan that helps the university meet its recruitment, reputation and public engagement goals.
7 Leads a wide variety of projects from concept through production and evaluation, taking responsibility for timelines, budgets and deliverables.
8 Serves as a resource to other departments, providing advice and training when appropriate.
9 Writes communications copy, proposals, briefings and other documents.
10 Directs the work of external agencies, contractors and student staff, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant professional experience.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Experience leading and evaluating successful data-driven marketing campaigns.
• Experience creating engaging content and distributing it across multiple platforms.
• Experience managing social media on behalf of an organization.
• Ability to use Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, including their ad platforms, in a professional capacity.
• Knowledge of digital marketing industry standards, best practices and trends.
• Experience with Google Analytics, Google Ads, email marketing and content marketing.
• Familiarity with A/B testing, landing page optimization and lead generation techniques.
• Naturally curious and resourceful with a drive to take initiative and solve problems.
• A genuine interest in art, design and media.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with the following considered an asset: Hootsuite, MailChimp and Adobe Photoshop.
• Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and Google Search Tools considered an asset.
• Experience working in the arts, creative industries or post-secondary sector considered an asset.
