Reporting to the Deputy Director, Advancement and Public Engagement, the Acting Chief of Marketing & New Media will be responsible for developing, directing and supporting all strategic marketing and new media efforts for the National Gallery of Canada (NGC), including community relations, advertising, promotions, tourism marketing, co-promotion partnerships / special initiatives, and products. The Acting Chief will provide strategic advice to the Director on all aspects of the role; include marketing and brand, design, web and digital media. He/She will help ensuring the consistency of branding throughout all of the Gallery’s departments to promote the Gallery’s identity. He/she will be responsible for promoting the NGC’s collections, exhibitions, educational and partnership activities, membership, and special activities to regional, national and international audiences in order to create successful revenue generating opportunities, increase attendance, draw new audiences, and grow the NGC membership base. Leading a team of ten to twelve professionals (three direct reports), the Acting Chief will plan, lead, oversee and evaluate the operations and management of the marketing and new media department of the NGC.
