The Marketing and Communications Manager seeks to hire students to assist with the following marketing initiatives for Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame from May-August 2018. Students will assist in planning and marketing a major fundraising event, the 2018 #InspireCanada Gala, from May-June 2018, coordinating all social media and website activity throughout the term and marketing new summer digital initiatives from July to August 2018.

Students will:
• Learn how to plan a large-scale fundraising event and media conference.
• Learn how to develop a digital communication strategy.
• Learn how to analyze and report on website and social media analytics.
• Learn how to draft and edit effective website and social media content.
• Learn how to create marketing and media materials and collateral.
• Attend regular meetings with the Manager of Marketing and Communications to ensure that the content and materials being developed meet the guidelines for the project.

Interviews will be conducted by the Manager of Marketing and Communications during the week of April 23-27 and April 30-May 4. A maximum of six candidates will be interviewed.

Eligibility: Students must be registered with Young Canada Works (YCW) prior to being interviewed and all candidates selected must be approved by YCW to confirm their eligibility in advance of them being offered a position.

Qualifications:
• Students must be attending a post-secondary program full-time and returning to school full-time for the Fall of 2018 semester.
• Preference will be given to marketing and communications students.
• Good interpersonal skills and computer knowledge using MS Office is required.
• Knowledge of InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop is an asset.
• Students will be required to provide or obtain a valid vulnerable sector police check.
