Job Description:

 

The Montreal Holocaust Museum educates people of all ages and backgrounds about the Holocaust, while sensitizing the public to the universal perils of antisemitism, racism, hate and indifference. It promotes respect for diversity and the sanctity of human life.

The Museum is looking to hire a summer student for the position of Communications and Events Agent. This person will contribute to the organization of the fall-winter 2018 season, and the planning of the spring-summer 2019 season.

Description of tasks:
• Assist the Coordinator in organizing events;
• Assist the coordinator in the development of materials: web texts, files and press releases, updates of social media and partner and event sites;
• Graphic design and layout of the Museum's communications materials;
• Update contacts and distribution lists;

Required Qualifications:
• The candidate must be bilingual (excellent written skills in English (advanced) and French);
• The candidate must be a returning student in communications, Graphic Design, or another related field.
• Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is required;
• Highly developed sense of organization and professional ethics;
• Resourceful, good management of priorities and the ability to work well within a team.

They must also be a student returning to full time studies in the fall. Interest in history, the Holocaust, human rights and current events is essential.

This posting is for a twelve-week contract. The hourly wage is $15.00. In keeping with the standards of « Young Canada Works, » the candidate must be a Canadian citizen, authorized to work in Canada, between the ages of 15 to 30 with plans to return to full-time studies in the upcoming school year.
