Funder’s Requirements: This position is funded in partnership by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) and must meet specific requirements including the following: a) Successful candidate must be a university or college student who has graduated within the last three (3) years from an accredited college or university and possess a post-secondary degree or diploma, and b) This opportunity must be the candidate’s first time employed in a related field, and must not have previously participated in an internship program.
Job Summary: Reporting to the Cultural and Tourism Coordinator and/or the Manager of Tourism & Community Initiatives, the Intern will create an oral history collection including outreach to interested community members to collect memories of Dryden and surrounding area’s history. The intern will record and transcribe interviews to share this heritage with the community by developing presentations and programs for future use in research, exhibits, and by members of the public. Other duties include cataloguing the archival collection, research activities, and archives reorganization.
