The Data Base lab is a place where all of these things come together in fun and engaging science experiences for our visitors and students. The Data Base Science Communicator works in collaboration with a Staff Scientist in the creative development of science programming and delivers these experiences to schools and audiences of all ages with passion and enthusiasm. Responsibilities include overseeing and troubleshooting daily operations and coordinating the activities of staff, volunteers, and co-op students. The Science Communicator will ensure that exhibits and supplies are available and maintained, and will monitor and enforce safety protocols.
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in science and technology, enjoy tinkering, be a problem-solver, and be able to deliver engaging presentations in both French and English. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal communication, demonstrated leadership ability, and strong organizational skills. Work may involve evenings, weekends, and work on public holidays. This is a full-time contact opportunity beginning immediately and running through until March 31, 2021 at $16.00 per hour.
