The Kamloops Art Gallery is seeking enthusiastic students to prepare for and offer Summer Art Camps for children.
The ideal candidates are pursuing or have completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts and/or Education degree. They must have a willingness to learn, a passion for teaching and art, excellent verbal communications skills and enjoy working with children. Strong organizational and computer skills (specifically Microsoft programs) are an asset.
Applicants must be a student between 19 and 30 years of age; have been registered as a full-time post-secondary student in the 2017/2018 academic year; intend to return to school on a full-time basis for the 2018/2019 academic year; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have Canadian refugee status; be legally entitled to work in Canada; be registered with the Young Canada Works online candidate inventory (https://young-canada-works.canada.ca); and be willing to commit to the full duration of the work term.
This position is pending receipt of funding from Canadian Heritage through Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations.
Wage: $15/hour
Employee status: Temporary full-time May 28 to August 31.
